The holiday season is just around the corner and Richmond International Raceway is ringing in the most joyous time of year at its Seventh Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Tuesday, December 7 at 6:30 p.m. The festive evening includes an illumination of the track’s Christmas tree, music and fun for the entire family.

Track president Doug Fritz announced today the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will race at America’s Premier Short Track “under the lights” on Thursday, April 28, 2011 to kick off the first NASCAR Tripleheader Weekend in Richmond since 2005.
When hometown favorite Denny Hamlin took the checkered flag at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday, September 11, marking the conclusion of the Air Guard 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series “One Last Race to Make The Chase,” the 12-driver field was set for the 10-race playoff to determine the series champion. Who knew that would mark the beginning of the closest Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup in its seven-year history?
For the sixth consecutive year, Richmond International Raceway will team up with two great organizations to help support those who are less fortunate throughout the Greater Richmond Metropolitan community. Everyone is encouraged to help the Richmond International Raceway staff assist the Central Virginia Foodbank and the Marine Toys for Tots program now through December 17 by donating food items and toys during this upcoming holiday season.
