RIR invites fans to our Daytona Day Watch Party on Sunday to cheer on their favorite drivers during the 59th running of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.

Richmond International Raceway (RIR) is gearing up for the 2017 NASCAR season by celebrating The Great American Race. RIR invites fans to our Daytona Day Watch Party on Sunday to cheer on their favorite drivers during the 59th running of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.

The event will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until the end of the Daytona 500. The Daytona Day Watch Party will take place at Big Al’s Sports Bar & Grill, 3641 Cox Road, Henrico, V.A.

Fans will be treated to food and beverage specials courtesy of Big Al’s. Fans in attendance will receive a special prize from RIR, as well as the opportunity to win exclusive giveaways during the event. Experiences fans can win include:

  • Official RIR and NASCAR shirts, hats and other memorabilia
  • Grandstand tickets for the TOYOTA OWNERS 400 on Sunday, April 30
  • Opportunity to drive on RIR’s ¾-mile D-shaped oval in your personal car
  • Pre-Race Pit Passes, including access to Driver Introductions, prior to the TOYOTA OWNERS 400 on Sunday, April 30
  • Gatorade Victory Lane access after the TOYOTA OWNERS 400 on Sunday, April 30
  • NASCAR Garage access during the TOYOTA OWNERS 400 Weekend on April 28, 29 & 30

 “The Daytona 500 is the marquee event in NASCAR, and we want to share this special day with our fans,” said RIR President Dennis Bickmeier. “The race is the official start of a new season, so it’s exciting to give our fans in the region a unique way to watch the race as a community. Thanks to Big Al’s Sports Bar & Grill, we will be celebrating Daytona Day in style here in Richmond.”

NASCAR returns to Richmond on April 28, 29, and 30 for the ToyotaCare 250 NASCAR XFINITY Series Dash4Cash race at 1 p.m. and TOYOTA OWNERS 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at 2 p.m. Kids 12 and younger are free in general admission seating areas for the ToyotaCare 250.

Richmond will crown the inaugural Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series regular season champion over Fan Appreciation Weekend on September 8-9. The Federated Auto Parts 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race on Saturday, September 9, and the Virginia529 College Savings 250 NASCAR XFINITY Series race on Friday, September 8 is presented by Who’s Your Driver.
