Richmond Raceway and SunTrust Banks, Inc. have partnered to share appreciation to past and present military members through the Military Appreciation Program for the fall NASCAR race weekend, presented by Who’s Your Driver. SunTrust will be the naming rights sponsor of the program, which is now the Military Appreciation Program presented by SunTrust.
“Richmond Raceway has always been a proud supporter of our military,” said Richmond Raceway President Dennis Bickmeier. “The addition of SunTrust Banks allows us to honor more military members, and share our appreciation for their commitment to our country. It’s always great to welcome a new partner to the Richmond family, but it’s special when it gives back to our service men and women.”
During race weekend, SunTrust will host fans at its “onUp on Tour” pop-up entertainment experience that inspires visitors to learn about finances through fun, interactive, sports-based activities. Additionally, the SunTrust brand will be displayed at the entrance and inside the hospitality area. SunTrust will also have a display space located beside Military Hospitality, where fans can gather more information on the services they provide. In addition to race weekend branding, Military Appreciation presented by SunTrust will have a presence on richmondraceway.com and print collateral distributed at various outbound events.
“SunTrust has a long history of serving the veteran and military community,” said John Stallings, SunTrust Virginia Division President and CEO. “Our research shows that, across all income levels, people who are financially confident report being three times more satisfied with their lives. The partnership with Richmond Raceway in support of the Military Appreciation Program allows us to start the conversation about money and financial confidence with veterans, service men and women; so we encourage everyone to stop by the onUp on Tour experience during race weekend and enjoy the interactive activities while getting a little more confident with finances.”
The Military Appreciation Program has become one of the more popular ticket offers at Richmond Raceway. For Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race, past and present service members receive a complimentary Pre-Race Pit Pass with the purchase of a race ticket. The first 1,500 military ticketholders will also receive complimentary access to the Military Hospitality area located in The Classic Amphitheater. The hospitality area consists of food, beverages, entertainment, and appearances by NASCAR celebrities.
Past and present service men and women are also eligible to receive discounted tickets for NASCAR XFINITY Series races. For more information on the Military Appreciation Program presented by SunTrust, visit richmondraceway.com/military.
