Third Annual Track Takeover Driven by AAA Returns to Richmond Raceway on April 21

Richmond Raceway will host the third annual Track Takeover driven by AAA. The fan-friendly event allows all ticketholders to the TOYOTA OWNERS 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series to walk the track and engage with DAYTONA 500 Champion Austin Dillon and see the iconic No. 3 for Richard Childress Racing on Saturday, April 21 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fans can become a part of Richmond’s history when they stop by the Start/Finish line and sign their name.

“Track Takeover driven by AAA is one of the premier fan engagement experiences in NASCAR at Richmond Raceway,” said Richmond President Dennis Bickmeier. “AAA has been vital to the success of this event, and we thank them for seeing the value in giving back to our loyal race fans. I look forward to seeing fans return for the third annual Track Takeover driven by AAA on April 21.”

“We continue to enjoy a longstanding relationship with Richmond and are excited to bring Track Takeover to the fans for the third year as this year moves back to a night race,” said Matt Haas, Managing Director of Marketing for AAA Club Alliance. “AAA’s focus is on drivers and their cars – many of which are race fans. So this is a great opportunity for us to celebrate Austin and RCR’s successes and provide unique at-track experiences for fans to be able to celebrate too.”

At Track Takeover driven by AAA, Dillon will engage with fans and participate in on-track activities on the main stage. In addition, fans will be able to walk around the entire ¾-mile D-shaped oval. Fans can experience what it is like to stand on 14-degree turns. While strolling around the track, fans will find interactive displays providing a behind-the-scenes look at the sport they love.

“Fan engagement is central to NASCAR, so I feel very fortunate that AAA and Richmond Raceway are as passionate about race fans as I am,” said Dillon. “It’s important to get the next generation of fans excited about our sport and Track Takeover driven by AAA is a prime event for Richmond fans, both young and old.”

To celebrate Dillon taking the Richard Childress Racing No. 3 back to DAYTONA 500 victory lane, Richmond and AAA are offering fans a $33 ticket in Dogwood sections I-S rows 1-10 to the TOYOTA OWNERS 400 Monster Energy Series race. This exclusive opportunity could be a race fan’s ticket to walk the iconic Richmond track and meet this year’s DAYTONA 500 champion. The AAA ticket deal is available now, but expires on Tuesday, April 3.

It just doesn’t get any better than Richmond Raceway. It’s the ultimate in short-track racing, and doesn’t get any more exciting than that. This is where my first victory came. Richmond is always going to be special for me.”
