Who’s Your Driver Renews Partnership with Richmond Raceway for Third Season
Richmond Raceway, DRIVE SMART Virginia, and the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Highway Safety Office will ask fans again this year Who’s Your Driver. The public information and education campaign targeting 21 to 35-year old males encourages people to choose a sober driver and buckle up. Who’s Your Driver renews its partnership with Richmond as the presenting sponsor for the Fall Race Weekend featuring the Federated Auto Parts 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race and the Go Bowling 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race.
“DRIVE SMART Virginia and the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Highway Safety Office have been dedicated partners of ours through the Who’s Your Driver campaign,” said Richmond President Dennis Bickmeier. “The program has consistently grown through our partnership as we are able to educate fans about the importance of choosing a sober driver through the Who’s Your Driver sponsorship of our Fall Race Weekend. We look forward to another season of asking our fans to buckle up and ‘Who’s Your Driver?’”
Additionally, Who’s Your Driver will return as the presenting sponsor of Racing Virginia, an unprecedented collaboration among Virginia’s motorsports venues. Through its website and social channels, Racing Virginia provides exclusive news and information about racing action in the Commonwealth. Who’s Your Driver has a strong presence at tracks around the Commonwealth of Virginia as part of its partnership allowing the campaign to continue its mission of promoting safe and sober driving.
“DMV is proud to be a partner in this life-saving mission to prevent drunk driving and encourage belt use among young males, a critical audience over-represented in traffic deaths,” said Virginia DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb, the Governor’s Highway Safety Representative. “Always choosing a sober driver and buckling up are at the forefront of this campaign – two positive actions and great reminders for all race fans.”
Fans who take the pledge to choose a sober driver will be entered for a VIP experience during Richmond’s Fall Race Weekend. The winner will receive exclusive access to the Driver/Crew Chief Meeting at Virginia Credit Union LIVE! at Richmond Raceway as well as have their photo taken in Gatorade Victory Lane with the winners of the Go Bowling 250 and Federated Auto Parts 400.
“The ‘Who’s Your Driver’ partnership with Richmond Raceway continues to be successful in leading the conversation about safe driving in Virginia,” said Janet Brooking, Executive Director of DRIVE SMART Virginia. “As our sponsorship has grown to include Racing Virginia, our message to ‘choose a sober driver and buckle up’ now resonates throughout the Commonwealth saving lives. We appreciate the track’s commitment to the local community to deliver this important message.”
