Richmond International Raceway Hosting Fifth Annual Blood Drive Thursday, September 8

Richmond International Raceway will host its annual Drive for Life, a Virginia Blood Services blood drive, on Thursday, September 8, from noon to 5 p.m. in the historic Old Dominion Building. Participants should enter the property at Gate 4, off of Laburnum Avenue. Richmond International Raceway’s Drive for Life is a partnership between the track and Virginia Blood Services. Donors may register in advance by logging on to www.vablood.org.

With Kyle Busch’s win at Michigan International Speedway last weekend, one of the 12 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series spots has been gobbled up. RIR and NASCAR Driver Carl Edwards Spend the Day at Sea With Sailors on the USS Eisenhower

It was a day to remember. Richmond International Raceway representatives and NASCAR driver Carl Edwards set out on a flight like no other. Strapped tightly into a C-2 Greyhound on Tuesday, August 16th, the team took off for the USS Eisenhower, located approximately 200 miles southeast of her home in Norfolk, VA. The one hour flight to the ship ended with a hook landing on the flight deck of the IKE.

After a little movement in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings following an eventful finish at the “Tricky Triangle” of Pocono, the Race to The Chase shifts to the 11-turn road course at Watkins Glen International.
