Harlem Globetrotters to Perform at Richmond Raceway During September NASCAR Weekend

Richmond Raceway will welcome the legendary Harlem Globetrotters (Globetrotters), an internationally renowned brand synonymous for one-of-a-kind family entertainment, and their “Globetrotters Experience” to America’s Premier Short Track on Saturday, Sept. 21, as part of the NASCAR Playoff Race Weekend presented by Who’s Your Driver. The legendary basketball team who amazes fans with ball skills, trick shots, and comedic performances will perform a series of 30-minute shows in the Midway prior to the start of the Federated Auto Parts 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoff race.

“The Harlem Globetrotters are known for their memorable brand of entertainment around the world, so we look forward to welcoming them to Richmond Raceway to engage with fans over our NASCAR Playoff Race Weekend presented by Who’s Your Driver,” said Richmond President Dennis Bickmeier. “The ‘Globetrotters Experience’ will bring a unique energy to our Midway and provide a family-friendly activity for fans to enjoy before the green flag waves.”

Formed in 1926, the Globetrotters have performed in 124 countries and territories on six continents. Recognized by their impressive basketball skills, trick shots, and audience participation, the Globetrotters are recognized for family entertainment. The fans at Richmond will be the latest addition to a long list of fans the team has performed for over the last nine decades, including popes, kings, queens, and presidents.

Fans will see the Globetrotters in their distinguishable red, white, and blue uniforms in the Midway on Saturday, Sept. 21 from noon to 3 p.m. Each performance will be 30 minutes and take place on the Midway stage. The Globetrotters will be joined by a DJ and an MC who will lead audience participation throughout the show.

Richmond Raceway 2019 NASCAR Season

NASCAR returns “under the lights” to Richmond for the NASCAR Playoff Race Weekend presented by Who’s Your Driver on Sept. 20-21. America’s Premier Short Track will start the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs with the Go Bowling 250 playoff race on Friday, Sept. 20. Richmond will host the second race of the Monster Energy Series Playoffs with the Federated Auto Parts 400 playoff race on Friday, Sept. 21.
