F-15E Strike Eagles to Perform Flyover to Launch Pre-Race Ceremonies Presented by Virginia 811 for Federated Auto Parts 400

Richmond Raceway (Richmond) will welcome a military flyover from the F-15E Strike Eagles to kick off the Pre-Race Ceremonies presented by Virginia 811 for the Federated Auto Parts 400. The 4th Fighter Wing out of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, N.C., will honor our nation prior to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoff race on Saturday, Sept. 21.

“The flyover is an integral part of our NASCAR Playoffs Race Weekend as it is a memorable moment our loyal fans unite to honor our nation,” said Richmond President Dennis Bickmeier. “The 4th Fighter Wing from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base will provide chills and cheers to race fans as we launch our immersive Pre-Race Ceremonies presented by Virginia 811. We sincerely appreciate the 4th Fighter Wing adjusting their timing due to the early sunset to perform a flyover in recognition of our military at America’s Premier Short Track.”

The 4th Fighter Wing will pilot four F-15E Strike Eagles across the sky prior to the Federated Auto Parts 400. Fans will see this special moment in person on Saturday night at approximately 6:38 p.m. to start Pre-Race Ceremonies presented by Virginia 811 prior to the Monster Energy Series Playoff race.

The Bandit Flight Team will also perform a flyover during the National Anthem as part of Pre-Race Ceremonies presented by Virginia 811 for the Federated Auto Parts 400 and Go Bowling 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoff race.

NASCAR returns “under the lights” to Richmond for the NASCAR Playoffs Race Weekend presented by Who’s Your Driver on Sept. 20-21. America’s Premier Short Track will start the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs with the Go Bowling 250 playoff race on Friday, Sept. 20. Richmond will host the second race of the Monster Energy Series Playoffs with the Federated Auto Parts 400 playoff race on Friday, Sept. 21.
