Fans attending the “Who’s Your Driver?” NASCAR weekend at Richmond International Raceway on September 9th – 10th will once again be able to take advantage of on-site and off-site parking. The many convenient options RIR offers allow fans to choose what best fits their needs.

Lot D presented by whosyourdriver.org is available to BOTH RICHMOND NATION permit holders, and FREE general parking on Saturday, September 10th.  The RICHMOND NATION permit parking area will be accessible through Gate 6. The FREE general parking area will be accessible through Gate 4, and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All lots open at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Lot D will fill up quickly, so we highly suggest carpooling with your fellow race fans. Not only will you get a great spot to tailgate, but you’re also making a smart, safe decision by designating a sober driver. Take the pledge to carpool and choose a sober driver by asking “Who’s Your Driver?” and logging on to whosyourdriver.org.

Additional FREE parking areas at RIR are available and can be accessed via Meadowbridge Road.  While there are several free parking areas near RIR, Lot H has the easiest access from/to Interstate 295.  And, we offer a FREE tram service from Lot H to the backstretch that runs continually starting at 9:00 a.m. through post-race.

Fans also have the option of parking off-site and accessing the Downtown Shuttle from the 7th Street Parking Deck, adjacent to the Richmond Coliseum. The shuttle runs continuously starting at 2:00 p.m. through post-race. The shuttle is free, however, parking deck fee applies. The 7th Street Parking Deck is conveniently located less than five minutes from the intersections of I-95 and I-64.

Please be aware that traffic patterns may change throughout the day, based on traffic flow and parking availability. For updated traffic and parking information on race day, please follow Henrico Police on Twitter @HenricoPolice.
