Track Will Host NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Regular-Season Finale on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025
RICHMOND, Va. (Aug. 29, 2025) – As part of today’s 2025 NASCAR schedule announcement, Richmond Raceway will host the NASCAR Cup Series on Saturday night under the lights on Aug. 16. This action-packed night will cap an incredible weekend of night racing that will begin with the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series regular-season finale on Friday, Aug. 15.
“Returning the NASCAR Cup Series to Saturday night at Richmond Raceway is something our fans have wanted for some time,” said Richmond Raceway President Lori Collier Waran. “It’s going to make for an incredible summer night of racing here in the Commonwealth, and we’re going to make it an unforgettable experience for our fans.”
NASCAR racing has been a part of Richmond Raceway’s rich legacy dating back to 1955, and its most recent event – the Cook Out 400 earlier this month – produced one of the most unforgettable finishes in the track’s storied history. Austin Dillon collected the checkered flag with his controversial last-lap pass of Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin, raising expectations for what’s to come in 2025 and beyond.
While NASCAR will only visit Richmond Raceway once in 2025, the track will continue to be active year-round with a multitude of concerts, community events and the upcoming Nitrocross race weekend on Sept. 7-8.
